Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke again this Tuesday in his segment “Eye to Eye,” where he directly responded to social media users on various issues, including the creation of the Bektashi state.

He explained that this concept has no connection with the division of Albania’s territory and emphasized that there is a similar example in Italy, where three internal structures exist without implying territorial separation.

Rama stressed that the Bektashi state would be an entity without customs, taxes, or police, but one that fully adheres to the Constitution of Albania.

The Prime Minister added that this is not about dividing Albanian territory or creating a new state, but rather a special support initiative for this community, considering its historical significance and the status it holds in the country.

When asked about justice in Albania, Rama stated that from 1912 until the justice reform was implemented, the judicial system was never independent but politically influenced.

“It has never happened in history, from 1912 until we carried out the justice reform, that a person would face an independent judiciary. This is a historic achievement of the Socialist Party,” said Rama.

Meanwhile, according to him, there is only one party fighting for power, referring to the opposition.

He further added, “As every forest has its own wild boars, the Socialist Party also has, in this process, individuals who belong to the judiciary but not to the party,” referring once again to the justice reform process and to all socialists facing justice, mostly for corruption cases.

“If today there were more corruption, Albania would not be leading the region by a significant margin. Albania has 80 points, and then come the others in public procurement and tenders,” he continued.

“That being said, one thing is certain: today, there is less corruption. If there were more, Albania would not be at the negotiation table with the European Union. If today there were more corruption, Albania would not be leading the region by a significant margin. Albania has 80 points, and then come the others in public procurement and tenders. Albania is first. This is not what the government says; this is what SIGMA reports. Comparing today’s Albania with that of a decade ago is like locking away your memory and having no interest in the truth,” Rama stated.

Additionally, Rama announced that two live posts would be made every week as part of this segment to discuss various topics, including those related to the diaspora and the engagement of Albanians abroad.
