The Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has responded following the European Commission’s evaluation of its ongoing results.
The European Commission acknowledged SPAK’s contributions during the 16th Subcommittee Meeting on Justice, Freedom, and Security, held on February 11-12, 2025. It emphasized SPAK’s crucial role in combating corruption and organized crime.
According to SPAK’s announcement, the European Commission highlighted that this institution has contributed to establishing a credible track record in fighting organized crime and corruption, considering it a significant step in Albania’s EU integration process.

The European Commission commended the continuous results of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) during the 16th Subcommittee Meeting on Justice, Freedom, and Security between the European Union and Albania, held on February 11-12, 2025.
“SPAK’s role and independence in investigating, prosecuting, and adjudicating complex cases of corruption and organized crime have been the cornerstone of the 2016 justice reform, whose continued consolidation the EU supports and promotes as an integral part of Albania’s accession negotiations. SPAK has contributed to Albania’s broader efforts to establish a credible track record in combating serious crime, organized crime, and corruption, including at high levels.”
