A new artistic event has been added to Tirana’s cultural calendar, highlighting young pianists from around the world.

The International “Frederic Chopin” Festival is set to commemorate the 215th anniversary of the legendary Romantic-era pianist’s birth and the 30th anniversary of the association bearing his name.

The festival will feature 150 artists of various age groups from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and other countries, all competing in the “J’adore Chopin” piano competition.

Organizers see this as an opportunity to nurture and showcase young talent, with the potential to reach international stages. The competition promises exciting surprises, with a prestigious jury consisting of renowned pianists and musicians from Poland, Italy, Germany, and France.

  • Venue: National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Tirana
  • Dates: March 1 – March 6, aligning with Chopin Days in Tirana
  • Repertoire: Participants will perform works by Fryderyk Chopin, alongside pieces by other classical composers and Albanian composers

The festival will present, Grand Prize, Four First Prizes, Four Second Prizes, Four Third Prizes, The “Eagle” Prize, Special Awards, Diplomas, and Certificates
