Prime Minister Edi Rama said this Friday that the agreement between “TEDA Tirana”, the Free Economic Zone of the Municipality of Tirana, and the Israeli company “H.A.P.I Advanced Technologies LTD” has been signed, which will make investments in digital technology.
According to the prime minister, TEDA Tirana is a strategic project to encourage investments in technology and industry, offering incentives for investors in sectors such as technology, automotive, innovation, and manufacturing.
“Let us welcome and sign this agreement, which started several years ago during a visit to Israel. The company is extremely satisfied with this agreement that is being signed. I say this not only because of the relationship with the Jewish people, but because despite the small population, it is inspiring that the difference is not made by what you have, but by what you know. I gave the example of water here; Israel does not have water resources like Albania, but it has extraordinary water supplies in land that is not fertile. Israel has developed agriculture and it is a transformation of knowledge. We are in a phase where we are designing, and here I want to thank the Israeli ambassador. This is of special importance because it adds energy and strength to do more in the country where it is. We are discussing a lot, because any contribution that can come from Israel to Albania is welcomed.”
He stated that this is a historic moment and expressed that now Albania cannot afford to lose any moment, while he believes that the “window for EU membership” has been opened.
“This is a historic moment for Albania. A window of opportunity has opened for us to become part of the European Union by taking advantage of a very short time frame. The speed with which we are progressing in this framework is the highest ever, compared to all countries, not because we are doing our job very well, which is unquestionable, but because the EU is very interested in speed. It is a historic moment of aligning our internal circumstances with the circumstances of the European Union. They are just as interested as we are in ensuring that this process is concluded and that we become part of the European Union. We have the duty not to waste a single day, because if we don’t achieve this breakthrough in this time window, the window may close and history will start over,” said Prime Minister Rama.
