This weekend, a job fair was held in Athens, attended by 120 Albanian companies.
Present at the event, Prime Minister Edi Rama called on Albanians to return, work, and invest in their homeland.
“We will come again and remain persistent because the 120 companies that have come here today are offering jobs and better salaries than those earned in the same positions here in Greece,” said Rama.
The head of the government also spoke about salary levels in Albania, which he said are now competitive with those in Greece.
“Today, all those who have followed and continue to follow Albania through the swamp channels, where the noise of frogs continues, claiming that in Albania salaries are 200,000 old lek, can see that in the tourism sector—just before coming here, I was talking to someone working as a cleaner in a hotel here who, for 21 rooms under her care, earns 980 euros. A cleaner responsible for six rooms on the Albanian coast earns 950 euros,” stated Rama.
This is the first time a job fair with Albanian companies has been organized in Greece, offering employment opportunities in sectors such as tourism, construction, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
