In an interview with journalist Thimi Samarxhiu on Euronews Albania, Daniel Rubenstein, former adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, spoke about the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Rubenstein stated that the situation in Gaza can only change with the establishment of a new government that guarantees peace and security in the region.

He emphasized that Hamas has taken control of humanitarian aid in Gaza, imposing taxes on it while leaving Palestinian civilians and Israeli hostages without food.

“At the moment, Hamas controls Gaza and is the same entity that carried out the terrorist attacks. They are misusing aid and torturing hostages. If we want lasting peace, we must have a new government in Gaza,” Rubenstein said.

When asked who could govern Gaza, the former Netanyahu adviser stated that it should be a structure committed to peace and not seeking the destruction of Israel.

Regarding the future of Gaza, he added that the two-state solution should be negotiated, but as long as Hamas remains in power and continues its aggressive policies, peace will remain unattainable.

Speaking about international relations, Rubenstein also praised Albania for its historic support of Jewish people during World War II.
