The Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, has extended his congratulations in a phone conversation with the newly appointed Archbishop of Albania, Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Monsignor Ioannis, on his appointment to this important position.
Dendias expressed his best wishes for the success of the new archbishop in his pastoral mission and emphasized the importance of continuing the great work of the late Archbishop Anastasios in strengthening the Orthodox community in Albania.
In his message, Dendias expressed his hope that Archbishop Ioannis will bring fresh spirit and strength to the leadership of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and contribute to the further development of relations between the two countries. He also highlighted that this is a significant moment for religious and cultural cooperation between Greece and Albania.
“In a phone conversation with the new Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Mr. Ioannis, I congratulated him on his election. I wished him success in his pastoral mission and encouraged him to continue the important work of the late Archbishop Anastasios,” wrote the Greek Foreign Minister, Dendias.
