Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni, and Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha took part today at COD in the presentation of the GRECO report on the fight against corruption.
In his speech, Rama emphasized the importance of governance work, which has led to Albania being considered a regional leader in the fight against corruption.
“Albania was ranked among the top three countries with the greatest improvement in governance. It climbed 18 places in the global ranking.
Based on the report, Albania is considered a regional leader in anti-corruption policies, achieving the highest score among Western Balkan economies for the scale of its anti-corruption policies. The report states that this has been achieved by significantly surpassing the region in areas of corruption prevention as well as criminal investigations and prosecutions.
According to the report, efforts to prevent corruption have been strengthened thanks to a comprehensive legal and institutional framework,” said the Prime Minister.
He explained the upcoming opening of new chapters that will deepen the government’s efforts against illegality.
“I emphasize that we will soon continue with the opening of other chapters.
This is not a moment to sit back—these are strong motives to go further.
We are making comprehensive efforts to deepen this progress by preparing a ‘wave of reforms’ in good governance, rule of law, and anti-corruption, involving all three independent branches: legislative, executive, and judicial.
I am preparing a unique model for public procurement using artificial intelligence—the first model that will cover 95% of the process without human involvement,” said Edi Rama.
