Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that once Albania joins the European Union, property prices in the country will double.

“The moment we join the EU, all properties will double in value,” Rama said.

During a meeting with young entrepreneurs in Saranda, the head of government emphasized that EU membership will bring a major opening toward the common European market, directly impacting the increase in real estate values.

“As the history of countries that joined before us has shown. In Croatia, one month after joining, everything jumped twofold. Because real estate becomes a point of interest for a population of hundreds of millions of people,” he added.

Rama also underlined the importance of ensuring that the tourism sector is not limited only to the summer months but expands with sustainable year-round offerings.

“I believe the time has come to think more deeply. It’s up to you to consider extending your tourism and hospitality businesses into the inland areas—Delvina, Finiq, and Konispol—which have extraordinary potential for agritourism and winter hospitality structures, focused on health, relaxation, and all those services that require a peaceful environment, clean surroundings, and that cozy fireplace experience that people are willing to pay well for.”

Following the meeting with young people in Saranda, the Prime Minister also commented on the improved credit rating for Albania in the latest economic report by “Standard & Poor’s”, calling it an indicator of the country’s progress.

“In its latest report, the prestigious international rating agency, ‘Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings’, an unwavering reference point for financial markets, investors, and country analysts, has once again improved Albania’s long-term credit rating to ‘stable’ (from ‘BB-’ to ‘BB’), further lifting our country to a new level and confirming, from this perspective as well, Albania’s unstoppable progress.”

“I know that those who complain about two minutes of jokes about Luli and ask for a program won’t read this news,” Rama wrote on Facebook.
