Foreign tourists who visited Albania in 2024 spent a total of €5 billion. Statistics show that the average spending per visitor was €427, a figure that remains lower compared to neighboring countries like Greece and Turkey, where average spending exceeds €600 per person. Compared to 2023, this marks a 20% increase.

On the other hand, Albanians who traveled abroad for their holidays spent €2.7 billion, which means that net tourism revenues for Albania amounted to €2.3 billion.

These figures come from the Balance of Payments report by the Bank of Albania, which confirms that with the arrival of 11.7 million visitors, revenue from tourism reached a record high, showing a positive balance — unlike a decade ago, when domestic and outbound tourism spending were nearly equal.

Investments and increased promotion have significantly contributed to the sector’s growth, which is expected to continue gaining momentum in the coming years.
