Under the chairmanship of the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit was held in Tirana on Monday, with the participation of regional leaders.
At the end of the summit, there were discussions regarding the joint declaration that was scheduled to be signed before the family photo. However, the signing did not take place.
Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina voted against the summit’s joint declaration.
According to sources obtained by Euronews Albania journalist Enkeleda Mema, Serbia raised objections and reservations about the joint position concerning Ukraine and the Middle East.
“The Prime Minister of Serbia was the first to leave a meeting. Initially, there was a joint roundtable aimed at reaching consensus among the 13 leaders of Southeast Europe. In a second meeting following the family photo, the Prime Ministers of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina refused to sign the declaration due to two issues—one related to Russia and Ukraine, and the other to Israel and Iran,” Mema reported.
