Foreign investments reached a value of 362 million euros in the first quarter of 2025.
The majority of the funding went into real estate, with Turkey topping the list of investing countries.
During the January–March 2025 period, the inflow of foreign capital was about 15% lower compared to the last quarter of 2024, indicating a slowdown in foreign investments.
According to data from the Bank of Albania, the real estate sector was the most financed, absorbing the largest share of foreign capital.
Out of the total, 104 million euros or 29% was directed toward construction, 21% into financial and insurance activities, 14% into the extractive industry, and 9% into manufacturing and trade.
In terms of investing countries, Turkey led with 49 million euros, representing 14% of the total, followed by the Netherlands with 13.5%, Italy with 12.7%, and Austria with 8.6%.
Meanwhile, investments from the United States were recorded at their lowest level since 2022, accounting for only 3% of the total.
