Ervin Salianji did not give a direct answer when asked whether he will run in the 2029 parliamentary elections, but emphasized that his political engagement will continue regardless of whether or not he holds an official mandate.
Speaking at a press conference, Salianji stated: “I have carried out opposition work even without having a parliamentary mandate. I will always have the opportunity to engage in politics through direct contact with citizens and through proposals coming from the Democratic Party. So I don’t see it as a concern.”
He also added that he is prepared for an international legal battle, reiterating that his case will go to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
“I am looking forward to facing the European Court, to determine whether I was right or the government was. The rule of law must prevail. We cannot have a justice system that places a heavier burden on opposition members while easing it for those in power,” Salianji declared.
