Every citizen residing or living in Albania is now required to self-declare their address through the e-Albania platform.
According to the government’s latest decision, citizens must also upload ownership documents of the apartment or rental contract if they are tenants.
The same procedure applies in cases of address change.
In such cases, citizens must upload any valid document that proves their residence or dwelling at the declared address.
The method for submitting the declaration or address change request is defined in the decision published in the Official Gazette.
“Citizens perform the declaration, change, or correction of residence electronically by uploading the property ownership document, rental contract, loan-for-use agreement, usage agreement, or any other legal document that proves residence or dwelling at the declared address,” the decision states.
Civil status offices are obligated to verify the accuracy of the addresses and notify citizens within 24 hours if any documentation is missing. The citizen must complete the documentation within three days of notification.
The decision also states that all members of a household must have the same registered address, with all elements fully completed.
