Exports are showing signs of recovery this year, accompanied by a new trend — a decline in imports.
According to data from INSTAT, in June 2025, goods exports reached a value of 35 billion ALL, marking a 2% increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, imports amounted to 77 billion ALL, reflecting a 0.2% decrease year-on-year. With this trade flow, the trade deficit for the month stands at 41 billion ALL, down by 2% compared to June 2024.
Over the first six months of the year, exports reached a total value of 203 billion ALL, while imports totaled 431 billion ALL. As a result, the trade deficit has reached 228 billion ALL — a 5.4% reduction compared to the same period in 2024.
In terms of trade partners, European Union countries account for 56% of total trade volume. Country-specific data show that Albania’s main trading partners remain Italy, China, Greece, and Germany.
