With three votes in favor and two against, the Regulatory Commission has announced the final results of the May 11 elections.
This decision comes after the review of all complaints and legal procedures, definitively confirming the outcome of the electoral process.
The announcement session was accompanied by debates between the legal representatives of the two main parliamentary forces. The Democratic Party’s representative, Franc Nuri, stated that the elections were neither free nor fair, calling on the Commission not to certify the final results. He described the elections as an “electoral farce” and accused the state machinery of manipulation, vote-buying, and distorting the free will of voters.
On the other hand, Socialist Party representative Elena Xhina rejected the Democratic Party’s claims, stressing that the elections were free and lawful.
The Regulatory Commission declared the results based on the summary tables of MPs, previously certified by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the decisions of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (CSC) and the Electoral College. The distribution of parliamentary mandates is as follows:
-
Socialist Party (SP): 83 seats
-
Democratic Party (DP): 50 seats
-
Social Democratic Party (PSD): 3 seats
-
Opportunity Party: 2 seats
-
Albania Rises: 1 seat
-
Together Movement: 1 seat
