On Monday, Prime Minister Edi Rama represented Albania at the 20th edition of the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia—one of the most important regional events focused on European politics and the future of the EU.

In his remarks, Rama underlined Albania’s unwavering commitment to European integration and the alignment of its policies with those of the European Union.

“When it comes to us, and to me as the representative of my country, the situation is somewhat different. If the Slovenian Prime Minister were to say what he thinks about Brussels, he might risk a lot. But we have nothing to lose. We must be very open. Beyond what we say and express, our loyalty has never been in question.
As Europeans, we want to be free and express freely what we think, but when it comes to following Europe, we are truly loyal followers. Our foreign policy is 100% aligned with the EU’s foreign policy. We have never wavered, nor have we ever doubted this. When it comes to loyalty, we may even seem a bit blind—when we say we are with you, we are with you until the end.”

With these words, Rama reaffirmed Albania’s position as a faithful partner of the EU, emphasizing that the country has never questioned its European path and remains fully committed to the process of integration.
