The gross monthly minimum wage in Albania stood at €408 at the end of June.
The figure comes from Eurostat’s latest report, which also lists other European countries with updated minimum wage levels for 2025.
In the region, the highest minimum wage is in Montenegro at €670 per month. Next is Serbia, where workers cannot earn less than €618, followed by North Macedonia with €584 per month. In Bosnia, the minimum wage varies from €500 to €660 depending on the federation, while in Kosovo it is set at €350 by government decision. However, statistics for Bosnia and Kosovo are not reported by Eurostat.
In Albania, the minimum wage has not changed since 2023, indicating a decline in purchasing power due to rising prices, especially food, which accounts for around 40% of household income.
Within the European Union, according to Eurostat data, 22 countries have minimum wage systems. The highest is in Luxembourg at €2,700 per month. In Germany, the gross minimum monthly wage is €2,160, while in Bulgaria it is €550 per month.
