Five days after the suspension of the strategic dialogue between the United States of America and Kosovo, the President of the Republic, Vjosa Osmani, announced that she had a telephone conversation with Brendan Hanrahan, a senior official at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs in the U.S. Department of State.
President Osmani stated that the discussion focused on the importance of maintaining a strong alliance with the U.S. and the need for close coordination with Kosovo’s key strategic partner.
“A lasting alliance with the United States has always been in the interest of our people, our national security, regional stability, and Euro-Atlantic integration,” Osmani emphasized.
She added that, as President of the country, she is committed to working with the U.S. administration to safeguard and advance this alliance, built on trust and mutual cooperation.
“Today I had a telephone conversation with the Senior State Department Official for Europe, Brendan Hanrahan, during which I emphasized the importance of preserving our strong alliance and ensuring close coordination with our main partner.
The strong alliance with the U.S. has always been to the benefit of our people, national security, regional stability, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
As President of my country, I will work with President Trump’s administration to preserve and protect our alliance, which is based on trust and mutual cooperation,” Osmani wrote on X.
