Police have uncovered a case of firearms trafficking from Albania to England and arrested two individuals connected to this criminal activity.

Based on intelligence received about a firearms trafficking attempt by several citizens from Shkodra, officers from Police Commissariat No. 3, in cooperation with Shkodra Police, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Methoda.”

“At the location known as ‘Bulevardi i Ri’ in Tirana, officers from Police Commissariat No. 3 conducted a search of a truck suspected of carrying a firearm hidden by several individuals for trafficking purposes. Inside a television set, officers found and seized a firearm with a silencer, disassembled into parts,” police announced.

As part of the operation, and in cooperation with the Local Police Directorate of Shkodra, two individuals — Jurgen Suca and Segest Meti — were arrested, while another citizen, R. A., 20 years old, also from Shkodra, was declared wanted.

According to police, these individuals, in cooperation with one another, attempted to traffic a firearm with a silencer to England using the truck of a citizen who had no knowledge of the weapon hidden inside the television.

Investigations, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, are ongoing to fully document the criminal activity of these individuals, as they are suspected of having trafficked other firearms as well, and to identify and capture others involved.
