A series of high-level meetings and announcements of new ventures have positioned Turkey as the leading foreign investor in Albania over the past year.

Investments have not slowed this year either, with Turkey, alongside Italy, emerging as the top investor in the first half of the year, contributing €89 million to the local market.

At this pace, the stock of Turkish investments by the end of June reached €1.3 billion, marking a 12% annual increase. These enterprises play a significant role in the Albanian economy, particularly in the financial, energy, extractive, and construction sectors.

In the first half of the year, Italy also financed €89 million, but investments from the neighboring country fell by nearly 5% compared to last year and were directed mainly towards service activities.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands has dropped to third place among foreign investors since last year, although in 2024 Dutch investment flows have returned to growth with €85 million in new inflows, followed by Austria and Kosovo.
