The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, has decreed November 9, 2025, as the date for holding early local elections in Tirana as well as in five other municipalities: Vlora, Berat, Mat, Tepelena, and Cërrik.

Sources confirm that the decision has already been made by the head of state and is expected to be formalized in the coming hours.

The elections follow recent resignations and political developments in these municipalities, paving the way for the process of electing new local leaders.
