Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the presentation of the OECD report on the results of TALIS, the Teaching and Learning International Survey.
Rama stated that Albania achieved significantly positive results in this global assessment, highlighting that 85% of Albanian teachers chose teaching as their own vocation and profession.
“There are very encouraging data concerning our objectives, especially regarding the need to further promote technology,” Rama said.
“It is particularly encouraging that the average rate of teachers who use technology in Albania is higher than the overall average of all systems included in this survey.”
He added that efforts to strengthen partnerships between schools, parents, and students, by promoting the community-centered school model and enhancing interaction, are also reflected as a more positive indicator than the average of other systems surveyed.
The Prime Minister emphasized that supporting young teachers, reducing workload, and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into classroom practices are key goals to be pursued collectively.
“There is a concern, which does not find us unprepared but is reflected in the survey — that some of the younger teachers, those under 30, report that they might leave the profession if they do not feel sufficiently supported and motivated,” Rama added.
