During his speech at the Forum on Global Security and Policy in London, Prime Minister Edi Ramawas asked about British MP Nigel Farage. Rama stated that Farage is not the problem, adding that he believes the British politician does not have solutions for the real issues troubling the United Kingdom.
“I tend to believe that isolating Farage as the problem is, in fact, moving away from the roots of the problem. Farage is not the problem — he is the mirror through which people can theatrically see some of those problems.
I don’t think he has solutions, but there is no doubt that the solution is not to turn him into a scapegoat. The solution is to actually solve the problems and make people believe again in this great country,” Rama said.
Rama was also asked about the state of Europe, emphasizing that Europe is in a critical condition and needs to reflect deeply. The Prime Minister drew a comparison between Europe and China, noting that forty years ago Europe’s GDP was larger than China’s, while today they are at the same level.
“I believe that if anyone wants to truly understand what is happening with Europe, they should open their ears and listen to voices from outside Europe — to great and enlightened minds who see the global arena clearly.
All of them see Europe as an old, tired giant that is no longer able to adapt or understand that the world has changed. For example, less than forty years ago, Europe’s GDP was greater than China’s; today they are equal, and in less than twenty years China will have double Europe’s GDP,” Rama said.
