The European Union has published its Progress Report on Albania, assessing the country’s advancements in the European integration process.
According to the report, Albania has made significant strides, with four negotiation chapters opened over the past year, and preparations for opening the final chapter this year are in an advanced stage.
The most notable progress has been achieved in fundamental areas, particularly in judicial reform and the fight against organized crime and corruption.
However, the report underlines that to reach the closure of negotiation chapters, continuous efforts are needed in implementing sectoral reforms and maintaining an inclusive political dialogue.
“Achieving Albania’s goal of completing accession negotiations by 2027 depends on maintaining the pace of reforms and fostering an inclusive political dialogue. If this reform momentum is sustained, Albania is on the right track to achieve this ambitious objective,” the report states.
