Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted on Tuesday following the publication of the European Commission’s Progress Reports, presented by Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who congratulated the Western Balkan countries for the steps taken on their path toward European Union integration.

In her report, Kos mentioned Albania, Moldova, and Ukraine as the countries showing the greatest progress over the past year, while highlighting Montenegro as the most prepared country in the region for the enlargement process.

The Commissioner also underlined Albania’s fast pace in opening negotiation clusters and its significant progress in institutional and legal reforms, which are bringing the country closer to EU standards.

In his response, Prime Minister Rama described the report as a clear confirmation of the work carried out by the Albanian government in the integration process and emphasized that Albania will continue with determination on its path toward full EU membership.

Commissioner Kos’s post on social media was accompanied by the message:

@MartaKosEU: “Yes, we have done — and will continue to do — everything necessary to finally sit as equals at the EU table. Let’s keep moving forward, together.”
