The Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) Summit is taking place in Athens, where Albania is represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku.
She held meetings with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to discuss strengthening energy cooperation between the region and the United States.
The summit, organized by the U.S. Department of Energy in partnership with the Greek Government and the Global Energy Center of the Atlantic Council, brought together ministers and energy experts from Central and Eastern Europe.
Discussions focused on energy security, diversification of resources, and investments in sustainable technologies.
In a message from Athens, Balluku emphasized the importance of international coordination to reduce dependence on unsustainable energy sources and to address the impact of Russian gas in Europe.
She praised Secretary Wright’s vision for transatlantic cooperation and the role of energy in global security, also highlighting the significance of Secretary Burgum’s presence.
Albania’s participation in P-TEC demonstrates the country’s commitment to being an active part of the dialogue on energy transition and the development of policies aimed at clean and sustainable energy.
The summit provides a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices to strengthen energy resilience across the region.
