Polyphonic groups from various Albanian regions brought special emotions to the foyer of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, where a dedicated event was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Albanian Polyphony Association and the 20th anniversary of the inclusion of Albanian polyphony in UNESCO.

“On the 30th anniversary of our founding and the 20th anniversary of the recognition of Albanian polyphony by UNESCO, the Association has had extraordinary activity over these 30 years, especially in creating, organizing, and directing 12 polyphonic festivals,” said Minella Kureta, “Grand Master.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of the “Albanian Polyphony” Association highlighted the diversity of the artistic program.

“Today we have prepared songs celebrating the November holidays, as well as lyrical and other traditional songs. Groups from Skrapar, Lushnja, and Mallakastra are participating in this event,” said Yzeir Llanaj, chairman of the “Albanian Polyphony” Association.

The atmosphere of polyphony was further enriched by the National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances.

“In our Ensemble, besides singing, dancing, and instrumental music, polyphony is an essential element. We are participating with two very beautiful performances,” said Sokol Marsi, Director of the National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances.

On stage performed “The Boys of Vlora,” the Libohova Group, the Polyphonic Group of the National Ensemble, the Gora Group, the “Selam Musaj” Group, and the Mallakastra Group, creating a vivid mosaic of Albanian polyphonic tradition.
