Eighty artists from Albania and Kosovo come together for the second edition of “Tirana Art Weekend 2025.”
Thirty-three exhibitions and various activities spread throughout the capital offer a vivid and representative overview of the spirit of the contemporary art scene in Albania.
“Tirana Art Weekend seeks to clearly show that contemporary art in Albania does not appear in random bursts, but with a consistent rhythm. Our aim is to emphasize that the artistic community functions better when there is mutual communication,” said the director of the Albanian Visual Arts Network, Elian Stefa.
At the former persecuted persons’ building, an exhibition of 19 artists curated by Arnold Braho presents a journey through works dealing with childhood, the diaspora, and memory.
“This wide network includes independent institutions and organizations with different histories, which create a clear picture of the contemporary art scene. The center of this edition is the Institute for the Integration of Former Politically Persecuted Persons, a space filled with history, which for the second time welcomes these initiatives that are not permanent in Tirana,” Stefa added.
This journey through artistic spaces, which concludes on Sunday, aims to reflect the energy of the contemporary art scene in Albania.
