The Director General of the Albanian State Police, Major Director Ilir Proda, participated in the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly held in Marrakesh, Morocco, with the attendance of police leaders from 196 countries worldwide.
During his stay, Director Proda, accompanied by Senior Director Pëllumb Seferi and Director Ulian Shpataraku, held bilateral meetings with his counterparts, including the Director General of Italian Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisani, as well as the Turkish delegation led by Deputy Minister of the Interior, Munir Karaloglu.
In these meetings, the progress of the Albanian Police in the fight against organized crime and its equal participation with partners in international operations was presented, receiving positive evaluations for professionalism and reliability.
The counterparts involved in the meetings emphasized that the Albanian Police is a trustworthy partner, and expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation in combating international crime through joint investigative teams.
The 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly concluded with the election of the new President, Lucas Philippe, the Vice President for Asia, and the new delegates for Africa, Asia, and Europe, as well as the new members of the Executive Committee, responsible for strategic guidance and oversight of the Assembly’s decisions.
