The Public Municipal Enterprise “Urban Traffic” announced this Tuesday that starting from December 3, public transport services will resume in Pristina. The decision was made after the Ministry of Finance began the partial allocation of financial funds amounting to 28 million euros, which come from the carryover of the 2024 budget.
Urban Traffic expressed regret for the difficulties citizens experienced during the interruption and thanked them for their understanding.
“Dear citizens,
Following the start of the allocation of funds by the Ministry of Finance and the payment of invoices by the Municipality of Pristina, P.M.E. ‘Urban Traffic’ J.S.C. informs you that starting tomorrow, December 3, 2025, it will resume providing public transport services.
In recent days, the interruption of transport has been unavoidable due to the financial difficulties created by the Municipality’s non-payment of its obligations toward the enterprise.
We express our sincere regret for the difficulties citizens were forced to face during these days without public transport service and we thank you for your understanding,” the announcement states.
The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, said that this is good news for the citizens and workers of the capital, adding that the Directorate of Finance will work overtime to speed up the processing of payments.
According to him, the municipality will continue making payments in accordance with the pace of allocations from the Ministry of Finance, while expecting the full transfer of the 28 million euros to be completed very soon.
