The chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, announced in a post on Facebook that he has sent a letter to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. In this letter, Hamza calls for the immediate and unconditional lifting of the measures against Kosovo.

According to him, Kosovo has shown a high level of democratic maturity during this year. Hamza emphasizes that the EU’s measures are harming Kosovo and adds that they are unjustified.

“As Chairman of the PDK and future prime minister, I have addressed the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the EU institutions, calling for the immediate and unconditional lifting of the measures against Kosovo.
Kosovo has gone through a year of successive elections, but we have demonstrated a high level of democratic maturity. Our citizens, among the most pro-European in the region, must not be punished because of an irresponsible government.
The current EU measures are unjustified and are harming the country at a time when we need economic development, European integration, and political stability. It is time for a new chapter in relations between Kosovo and the European Union,” Hamza writes.
