Albanians are increasingly turning to online shopping.
The latest report prepared by INSTAT highlights that during 2025, 45.4% of the population aged 16–74 made purchases via the internet, a figure 3% higher than in 2024.
The final quarter of the year, which coincides with the holiday season, traditionally records higher numbers of online orders.
So what do Albanians mainly buy online?
According to the report’s data, clothing, footwear, and accessories rank first, accounting for 96.5% of online purchases, followed by prepared food from restaurants or fast-food outlets and cosmetic products.
At the bottom of the list are electronic and household products, which account for only 20.2% of online purchases.
Experts note that all categories have seen an increase in the number of online purchases, with the exception of household products, where online sales have declined from 33.3% to 26.6%, as shown by the data.
