The proceedings of the Second Assembly of the Southeast European Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) have concluded, held under the presidency of the Albanian State Police, with the participation of police directors from across the region.

During the session, key regional security issues were discussed, including the current situation and future perspectives of SEPCA in managing irregular migration, combating organized crime, and fighting the trafficking of hard drugs. Particular focus was placed on SEPCA’s role as an early-warning system for potential migration flows, as well as the benefits of information sharing and joint analyses.

Police chiefs from Southeast Europe emphasized the consolidated importance of SEPCA in the fight against organized crime with international dimensions and expressed their commitment to strengthening the community’s impact in efforts against drug trafficking and irregular migration.

The Director General of the Albanian State Police, Major General Ilir Proda, thanked participants for their contributions during the Albanian presidency, stressing that the cooperation and commitment of the State Police will continue even after the conclusion of this honorary mandate.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, who participated for the second time as an observer, confirmed the capacities of the Kosovo Police to be an integral and equal part of SEPCA.

At the ceremony marking the handover of the SEPCA presidency to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Director Proda highlighted the importance of admitting the Kosovo Police as a full member with equal rights, underlining that only indivisible and unified cooperation can deliver sustainable results in the fight against regional and international crime.
