The acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, said that trade margins have been set for fuel products used in transport.
According to the decision, the maximum allowable trade margin for wholesale sales will be up to €0.02 per liter, while for retail sales it will be up to €0.12 per liter.
Hajdari said the decision to introduce protective measures for fuel products used in transport was taken with the aim of “protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition in the domestic market.”
“This decision is the result of continuous monitoring of the fuel market, through daily data from Kosovo Customs and reports from the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, which have shown that changes in import supply prices are often immediately reflected in increases in retail prices, while there is no proportional reflection in price decreases when supply prices fall,” she wrote on Facebook.
The decision will enter into force after its publication in the Official Gazette. According to Hajdari, increased inspections by the Market Inspectorate are planned to ensure the implementation of the decision.
The current retail price of fuel is around €1.25 per liter.
