Snowfall was recorded on Friday morning in the tourist village of Dardhë, located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level.
Snow has also fallen in Shtyllë and Mashkullorë, while no problems have been reported on road axes, as snow accumulation ranges from 2 to 5 centimeters.
Subcontracted companies are working to keep roads open and to salt them, while traffic police are urging increased caution and the use of winter tires for tourists planning to visit Dardhë, Voskopojë, or Vithkuq.
Temperatures today are expected to drop to as low as –5 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas. According to meteorologists, heavy snowfall is forecast later this week, with temperatures expected to fall further to –10 degrees Celsius.
