Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that the country is facing a world in which international public law and the United Nations Charter no longer function.

He expressed concern over the arming of Pristina, stressing that this violates UN Resolution 1244. Vučić said that a newly formed alliance between Pristina, Tirana, and Zagreb represents a direct threat to Serbia’s sovereignty.

“We are preparing to defend ourselves against those who no longer hide their threats,” Vučić declared.

He announced plans to strengthen special units and to double Serbia’s military capacity within the next 18 months. According to him, Serbia must rely on itself, as no external power would intervene to help if regional actors were to move against the country.

He also spoke about global changes taking place under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump. Vučić noted that Trump has created a specialized agency within the White House dedicated to ensuring U.S. global energy dominance.

Reflecting on recent events in Venezuela and the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, Vučić said that global interests are dictated by oil rather than human lives. According to him, there is no immediate risk of aggression, and Serbia must preserve peace in a world where “no rules are applied anymore.”
