The Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, speaking from the village of Thanasaj in Lushnjë, said that the situation regarding river inflows remains under control, with embankments stable and pumping stations operating at full capacity.
He stressed that there are currently no evacuation orders, while the main concerns remain agricultural land and livestock shelters.
“The waters are still within the embankments, the embankments are stable, and the pumping stations are operating at full capacity. We have no evacuation orders at the moment. The situation is dynamic, but there is stability in water levels and elevations. Agricultural land is a concern. We have had to evacuate some livestock shelters, and we need to stay close to livestock farmers to meet all their needs,” Vengu stated.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Lushnjë, Eriselda Sefa, reported that in the village of Thanasaj there are around 30 homes at risk due to the presence of floodwaters.
