The chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, convened the parliamentary group on Thursday, where he called for the launch of an irreversible battle to remove Edi Rama from power as soon as possible.

According to Berisha, Albanians and the entire international community expect the Democratic Party to lead the country out of this unprecedented crisis. He emphasized that the opposition will not disappoint them, starting with the January 24 protest, which he said will be the largest ever.

“We will mobilize every Albanian until his removal. Every day that passes is a day in which he has no legitimacy—a man who turns elections into a farce, who robs citizens, who violates the law must, at all costs, be held accountable before the law. Let him go whenever he wants; he will find no place to hide if he continues to block the Constitution and the law. This is an appeal to the dignity of every Albanian. No prime minister has ever dared to act in this way. The Democratic Party never comes to power by force, but will open the path to fair elections. Citizens expect action from the opposition, and we will not disappoint them. We have set a date for a powerful protest—the most powerful Tirana has ever seen—and we are sworn to continue until this government is removed,” Berisha said.
