Dozens of patients have approached the Medical Order with complaints against doctors or healthcare services. The President of the Medical Order, Dritan Trepça, said in an interview with Euronews Albania that what is most noticeable is a lack of trust in doctors, adding that every complaint will be reviewed as a priority by the commission.

After reviewing cases, the Medical Order may issue warnings or even revoke a doctor’s license if misconduct is identified. In some cases, patients address their complaints directly to judicial institutions, and the resulting decisions are then forwarded to the Medical Order for implementation.

The review of patients’ complaints, in certain cases, also goes through a commission established within the Ministry of Health, particularly when decisions taken by the Medical Order are contested by the parties involved.
