The Albanian government has decided to restore access to the TikTok platform, one year after the decision to block it. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The decision provides for:

  • The removal of temporary measures that had restricted access to TikTok, following a review of public and social security concerns in the digital environment.
  • The National Cyber Security Authority, in cooperation with regulatory bodies, will take the necessary actions to restore the platform, in compliance with the law on personal data protection.
  • The repeal of Decision No. 151, dated March 6, 2025, which had imposed temporary measures against the negative impacts of TikTok.
