The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, reacted through a post regarding the vote on the new government held on Wednesday in the Assembly. Hargreaves congratulated Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the new cabinet on their new mandate and assumption of office.

He wrote that he looks forward to cooperating with the government and added that his country is ready to support Kosovo in reforms and in strengthening democratic institutions.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to the new Government of Kosovo. I look forward to working closely with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his new team of ministers in the months ahead.

A functional Assembly and Government are essential for Kosovo to make progress on the issues that matter most to its citizens. The United Kingdom stands ready to support Kosovo as it advances reforms, strengthens democratic institutions, and acts in the interests of all communities,” he wrote.

Hargreaves said that the United Kingdom expects Kosovo to engage in the EU-facilitated dialogue and in promoting regional stability.

“We also look forward to Kosovo’s continued engagement in the EU-facilitated dialogue, as well as to promoting regional stability, prosperity, and cooperation. This is a moment of opportunity, and the United Kingdom remains a reliable partner as Kosovo works to build a secure and successful future,” he emphasized.
