The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed with an official ceremony the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, for a bilateral meeting, the press office of Kosovo’s Prime Minister announced.
Interstate relations, intergovernmental agreements, infrastructure projects of shared interest, and new opportunities during the current mandates of both governments were among the main topics of discussion.
Prime Minister Rama congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on his victory in the December 28 elections and on the formation of the new government. Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening and expanding relations between Kosovo and Albania in service of their citizens and the nation as a whole.
According to the statement from the Government of Kosovo, cooperation and interstate agreements over the past five years have included:
- The unification of school textbooks
- Nationwide cultural projects
- Infrastructure projects, such as the Pristina–Durrës railway
- Easier cross-border movement
- Mutual recognition of diplomas
- Cooperation in energy, security, sports, transport, tourism, and economic development.
