Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted this Sunday following his visit to Enver Hoxha’s Villa, where opposition protesters had thrown Molotov cocktails the day before. In a post on the social network X, Rama described the damage caused, emphasizing that the talented young people hosted by the Art Explora foundation were left traumatized by the violent attack.

He strongly criticized the act and also accused opposition parties of violence and vandalism, stating: “Shame on every judge who releases these wrongdoers of Albania back onto the streets, and shame on the governance of the judiciary that stands by watching as if Albania were not its homeland as well!”

The Prime Minister also reacted harshly to the release of the individuals who threw the Molotov cocktails, causing fire and danger to citizens, as Rama stressed.

Full statement by Prime Minister Rama:

“I have just left the artists’ residence in the former home of the dictator, where for some time now the prestigious Art Explora foundation has been hosting talented young people from Albania, Kosovo, and around the world. I found them traumatized by the madness of last night’s barbarity. A blind attack by a handful of paid blind individuals, aimed at frightening the city and tarnishing Albania, under the leadership of an eighty-something criminal villain who is followed by a few fence posts with the status of MPs, wandering around Tirana like the neighborhood madman, while almost no one pays attention to him anymore!

Judges who release these dangerous arsonists every time they are arrested by the police are co-responsible for these acts of vandalism, unheard of anywhere in Europe, carried out with the blessing and under the authority of a parliamentary party whose headquarters are not used to discuss ideas and programs, but only to make plans for violence and homemade bombs! Shame on every judge who puts these criminals of Albania back on the streets, and shame on the governance of the judiciary that stands by watching as if Albania were not its homeland as well!”
