The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude Joan, is currently in the United States of America as part of an International Conference held in honor of the late Archbishop Anastasios. He was invited by Archbishop Elpidophoros, who welcomed him at the airport together with several other clergy members.
On March 1, 2026, the Sunday of Orthodoxy, Archbishop Joan presided over the Divine Liturgy at Saint Catherine Church in Braintree, Massachusetts. The Liturgy was attended by 15 Hierarchs representing all the other Autocephalous Orthodox Churches, as well as the two Bishops of the Albanian dioceses in America.
The Triumph of Orthodoxy, marked by the presence of His Beatitude Archbishop Joan, brought together at one Holy Table such a large number of representatives from the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches after many years.
On March 2, Archbishop Joan will deliver the keynote address at the International Conference in honor of the late Archbishop Anastasios, which will take place from March 2–4 at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Boston.
Next Sunday, March 8, Archbishop Joan will preside over the Divine Liturgy at the historic Saint George Church in Boston, founded by Bishop Theofan Noli. He will be accompanied by His Grace Nikodhim, Bishop of the Albanian Archdiocese in America.
