President Begaj Decrees Changes in the Government

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, on Wednesday decreed the dismissal of Ferit Hoxha from his position as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Mission of Albania to the European Union. He also decreed Hoxha’s appointment as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Begaj also decreed several changes in the government, including the dismissal of Belinda Balluku from her positions as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. The president also decreed the dismissal of Elisa Spiropali as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Pirro Vengu as Minister of Defense.

The dismissals of Albana Koçiu, Besfort Lamallari, and Toni Gogu were also decreed by the President as they take on new positions.

The President decreed the appointment of the following officials:

  • Albana Koçiu – Deputy Prime Minister
  • Ferit Hoxha – Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs
  • Besfort Lamallari – Minister of Interior
  • Ermal Nufi – Minister of Defense
  • Toni Gogu – Minister of Justice
  • Enea Karakaçi – Minister of Infrastructure and Energy
  • Erjona Ismaili – Minister of State for Relations with Parliament
