Albania’s Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha held a phone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, regarding the escalation of tensions in the Middle East following Iran’s attacks on Gulf countries.
In a post on the social media platform X, Hoxha stressed that Albania condemns Iran’s actions, describing them as clear violations of international law and a threat to Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and economy, as well as to regional and global stability.
“Albania stands in full solidarity with Kuwait in the face of any destabilizing actions. We support the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Minister Hoxha wrote.
He also announced that Albania will co-sponsor a UN draft resolution in the Security Council, presented by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, condemning Iran’s attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, and calling for their immediate cessation.
At the end of the communication, Hoxha expressed Albania’s gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities for the care shown to Albanian citizens during these tense days.
