Enea Karakaçi, during remarks made while presenting decisions from the government meeting, also commented on the cancellation of the tender for the construction project in Porto Romano.
Karakaçi stated that the only bidder in the competition withdrew for economic reasons, citing the increase in construction costs due to the recent global crisis.
“It has also been made public and reported in several media outlets that the bidder has withdrawn from this competition. Yes, we have a withdrawal by the only bidder, for purely economic reasons due to rising costs and the effects of the crisis. The contractor has withdrawn, and the commission will continue with the procedure accordingly. I would also like to recall that the Prime Minister spoke a few days ago about the project, when he said that there are actors trying to slow it down and sabotage it,” said Minister Karakaçi.
He added that “another scenario will be developed and the project will be carried out,” emphasizing that it is of special importance for infrastructure development.
