Following recent changes in the government, new assignments in parliamentary committees are expected to be approved during Thursday’s plenary session of the Parliament of Albania.
According to sources from Euronews Albania, one of the main items on the agenda will be the appointment of former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali to the Parliamentary Committee on Security, as well as former Defense Minister Pirro Vëngu to the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development.
Meanwhile, the opposition has called for a protest at 10:00 a.m. in front of Parliament, related to the process concerning the lifting of immunity and possible arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
According to the official agenda, two draft laws will also be discussed during the session.

- Draft decision authorizing the arrest or deprivation of liberty of MP Belinda Balluku through the replacement of the security measure.
- Draft law on Albania’s accession to the Metre Convention, originally signed in Paris on May 20, 1875, and amended in Sèvres on October 6, 1921.
- Draft law on the ratification of the loan agreement between Albania, the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH), and KfW Frankfurt am Main for the rehabilitation of the Fierza Hydropower Plant.
- Draft decision on amendments to the decision regarding the membership of the permanent parliamentary committees.
- Draft decision on an amendment regarding the substitute members of parliamentary committees.
- Discussions on issues outside the agenda.
Parliamentary services have been tasked with publishing the agenda, notifying members of parliament through electronic communication, and preparing the necessary documentation for the session.
