After the presentation of reports by the Socialist Party (PS) and the Democratic Party (PD) regarding Belinda Balluku’s immunity, and following presentations by representatives Oerd Bylykbashi and Ulsi Manja, the request was put to a vote.
With 82 votes against lifting the immunity and 47 in favor, the request to remove Belinda Balluku’s immunity was rejected.
Out of the 83 MPs of the Socialist Party, four were absent: Belinda Balluku, Elisa Spiropali, Fatmir Xhafaj, and Blendi Gonxhja.
The Socialist Party was also supported by three MPs from the Social Democratic Party (PSD), who voted against SPAK’s request in line with the Socialists.
Democratic Party MPs immediately reacted against this decision by gathering near the podium with banners against the government.
At the same time as the session, the opposition organized a protest outside the Parliament building. Around 1,500 police officers were deployed to ensure the smooth running of the protest.
